Driveways & Unpaved Parking
Recycled asphalt is the most popular surface material for residential and commercial driveways. The residual asphalt binder reactivates under traffic and heat, causing the material to knit together into a firm, semi-solid surface — significantly more stable than gravel and far less expensive than new asphalt paving.
For a compacted base under a concrete or paved surface, Class 6 road base provides a dense, load-bearing sub-base that meets CDOT Section 304 specifications.
Road Base & Structural Fill
Class 6 aggregate base course is ¾" minus recycled concrete graded to CDOT Section 304 specifications. It's used as the compacted base layer under roads, parking lots, concrete slabs, and retaining walls. Recycled Class 6 compacts to high density and develops compressive strength over time.
Drainage & Pipe Bedding
Free-draining aggregate with minimal fines is essential for pipe bedding, French drains, and foundation drainage. Allied produces three sizes:
- 1" × ¾" recycled concrete rock — pipe bedding, French drains, under-slab drainage, landscape drainage
- 1½" × ¾" recycled concrete rock — storm and sanitary pipe bedding, perimeter foundation drains, retaining wall drainage cores
- 3" × 1½" recycled concrete rock — high-flow French drains, detention pond outfalls, culvert headwalls
All three products have near-zero fines content, allowing water to move freely through the aggregate.
Erosion Control & Rip-Rap
3" recycled concrete rock is a common choice for channel erosion control, slope protection, and rip-rap blankets. The large, angular particle size provides mass and interlocking stability on embankments and around outfall structures. 1½" recycled concrete rock is used for lighter erosion control applications and swales.
Mud Control & Site Access
Tracking pads and site access roads reduce mud tracking onto public roads and improve mobility during wet conditions. Class 6 road base absorbs moisture and compacts firmly under equipment loads. 1½" recycled concrete rock is commonly used as a coarser tracking pad surface where heavy equipment needs maximum traction and drainage.
